Abstract
556,484. Automatic control systems. LONDEX, Ltd., and STERN, W. L. April 29, 1942, No. 5764.. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] Fluid level.-An electric circuit through an electrode co-operating with the liquid &c. in a container is associated with a time delay relay effecting the control of level control means such as a pump. A single. immersion electrode may define both upper and lower levels by causing actuation of a pump for a period or after a period timed from the moment fluid contacts with or quits contact with an electrode. In another arrangement any control system of the kind referred to may also actuate a time delay relay to set in operation, after a time interval, an additional pump or an alarm signal or to vary the effectiveness of the pump. A series of time delay relays may control additional pumps in sequence. Switches may be provided to interchange main and auxiliary pumps and these may be automatically operated at regular intervals.
