Abstract

555,950. Brushes. DIXON, T. F. March 10, 1942. No. 3173. [Class 19] A rotary brush comprises tufted looped filaments 10 secured by one or more rows of staples 18 between the ends 14, 16 of metal plates each of which has a dished portion 22, 24 respectively at its inner periphery to form a channel 26 to receive the looped portions of the filaments. An endless tie 28, such as a wire ring, may be arranged in these looped portions. ' A central hole 25 is provided to receive a shaft or an arbor on which a number of such brushes may be mounted to' form a cylindrical brush. In a modified construction, the plates 14, 16 are integral and are carried by the outer periphery of a single plate.
