Abstract

781,724. Rotary brushes. SERVICE (ENGINEERS), Ltd. Feb. 24, 1955 [Feb. 25, 1954], No. 5521/54. Class 19. A rotary brush comprises a plurality of similar components assembled along an axis in such a manner that the brush may readily be disassembled, each component comprising a ring formed with a series of radial holes in its periphery and a tuft of bristles in each hole held by separate locking devices in such a manner that each tuft may be independently released when the brush is disassembled. As shown, rings such as 14 are arranged side by side on a tube 13 held by end caps 10 on a driving shaft 11. Each ring is provided with two circumferential rows of radial holes in which the sleeved ends 17 of bristle tufts are secured by grub screws 18 provided in each side of the ring.
