Abstract
223,163. Nielsen, L. H. May 7, 1924. Brush stocks; bristles, fixing.-A bristle-ring for rotary brushes is made of separate sections each constituting an anchoring piece adapted to be attached to the hub or shaft of the brush. In the construction shown the bristle-ring is in two parts, each part being formed' by doubling a dished annular plate c to form a semicircular segment with a pocket for a bristle element comprising bristles a, Fig. 6, held by twisted wires b. Projections o are formed on the plate to engage the bristles. The two halves of the plate are formed with corresponding holes, one pair h to receive a rivet for clamping the halves together, the other holes for securing the segment to the hub of the brush. The hub comprises two members q, r, provided respectively with pins s, t adapted to pass through holes in the segments. In assembling the complete brush each bristlering, in respect of the line of division between the two segments thereof, is angularly displaced in relation to the adjacent rings.
