Abstract
555,473. Multiplex systems. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., and MOSS, S. H. Nov. 24, 1942, No. 16607. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] Arrangements for the connection of a common circuit to a number of networks such as the filters of a multi-channel system employing an impedance of a certain value associated with each network, the impedance of all the networks being connected or coupled together, as described in Specification 552,163, are modified to meet the case in which the networks are asymmetrically connected, that is to say, the insertion loss is not necessarily the same for each network. The problem is discussed mathematically and several embodiments are described which are generally similar to those of the prior Specification. A simplified arrangement for two networks, Fig. 7, which is useful when one of two channels requires a very close coupling, employs a single impedance Z12 connected between the junction point of the secondary windings of transformer T and that of the primary windings of transformers T1, T2, the value of the impedance and the transformer ratios being interrelated.
