Abstract

749,694. Two-way transmission. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 19, 1953 [June 27, 1952], No. 17036/53. Class 40 (4). In a hybrid connecting circuit including a transformer having three windings 2, 3, 4, and an amplifier 5 having two output circuits 9, 10, signals incoming to terminals 7, 8, are prevented from appearing at the outgoing terminals 19, 20 by arranging that the signals from the two outputs 9, 10 appearing in the outgoing circuit are equal and opposite. Windings 3 and 4 are connected to the anode and cathode respectively of triode 21, Fig. 2, and the number of turns on each winding is such that the signal current developed across load resistor 22 and passing to earth through winding 3 and high impedance 23 is substantially eliminated by the current induced in winding 3. In a modification the cathode and anode circuits are reversed.
