Abstract
486,931. Reproducing music. CLARK, H. A. M. Dec. 10, 1936, No. 33947. [Class 40 (iv)] In a circuit for mixing signals from a pair of channels A, B, the load Q is connected between a terminal common to both channels and a tapping point on an inductance L1 connected between the free terminals of the channels and acting as an auto-transformer. An energy absorbing impedance LR1 is connected in shunt to the inductance. The volume in the respective channels may be adjusted by constant impedance attenuators A4, A5 and a similar attenuator may constitute the load Q. The channels are switched in or out by faders P1, P2 of which the first terminals T go to a monitoring circuit. The impedance relationships between the circuit elements are discussed in the Specification. The inductance L1 may be wound bi-filarly to give tight coupling between the sections. As shown, similar mixing arrangements are provided for another pair of channels C, D and the signals from all four channels go to a common circuit (not shown). Similar arrangements may be made for mixing signals from eight channels.
