[Class 87 (i)] A building block, which may be moulded from broken brick and like waste, and is formed so that it resembles one or more layers of ordinary bricks, being provided with horizontal, vertical or both horizontal and vertical grooves which are subsequently filled in with mortar to give the desired finished brickwork effect, has two ends thereof stepped to present three vertical faces 2, 3, 4, and 5, 6, 7, which together form projections 2, 3, and 5, 6 and recesses 3, 4 and 6, 7. A number of such blocks are fitted together to form courses.
