791,883. Walls. WHITE, A. E. March 7, 1956 [March 11, 1955], No. 7250/55. Class 20(4) In a cavity wall structure the courses in each of the inner and outer walls are alternatively composed of stretcher blocks 2, or 8 of normal size; viz. 9" long, by 4¢" wide, by 3" high, and queen closer bricks 4 or 6 of half the width, the queen closer bricks in one wall being opposite the normal size bricks in the other wall so that spaces 12 are formed between them. The stretcher bricks in one wall overlap, and are bonded to, those immediately below them in the other wall. In order that the joint breaks are made even a brick 10 is used, the size being 2“", by 2¢", by 3". The cavities 12 may be filled with waterproof cement mortar. In a modification, in which the depth of the cavities is increased, the courses of the inner and outer walls are composed of alternate pairs of stretcher and queen closer bricks. In a further modification each course in each wall is composed of stretcher bricks used alternately with queen closer bricks, the queen closer bricks in one wall being opposite the (stretcher size) bricks in the other wall.
