Double walls.-A hollow or double wall &c. is built of plain and T-shaped blocks of artificial stone or concrete, a course on one side being of plain and T blocks or of T- blocks only, while the opposite course is composed of plain blocks or of plain and T blocks. The courses on one side are alternately of plain blocks 6 and of plain and T blocks 7. The T-blocks may be displaced horizontally from one course to another. The outer faces of the T-blocks may have grooves, and spaces may be left between the plain blocks to receive reinforeing-rods 10 which are grouted in and connected by straps &c. 12. The distance between the walls may be varied and plain blocks used between the legs of the T-blocks and the opposite wall, Fig. 12. The blocks may be formed with internal spaces and have tongues and grooves formed on their meeting edges.
