Abstract

550,704. Electric soldering tools. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd., (trading as STANELCO PRODUCTS), and WARD, G. L. July 18, 1941, No. 9099. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] Two conducting arms 11, 12 extend forward from a clamp 13, the upper arm 11 carrying a transverse bit holder 14 having a slot of keyhole section to receive, in the lower part, a comb-shaped bit 17, and, in the upper part, a carbon rod which constitutes the heating element. One end of the rod is pointed to centre it, and the other end is fitted with an insulating sleeve 19 of " Vitreosil " (Registered Trade Mark) which also centres it, so that it is in contact only at its ends with the bit holder and a silver-steel conducting plug 20 respectively. A low-voltage supply is used.
