550,586. Electron multipliers and circuits therefor. BOSCH, F. J. G. van den, and VACUUMSCIENCE PRODUCTS; Ltd. May 7, 1941, No. 3753/42; Divided out of 545,123. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In an electron multiplier alternating potential is applied to an injector electrode arranged to follow one or more of the secondary cathodes and a tuned circuit for withdrawing an unwanted frequency is provided and connected to a succeeding by-pass electrode arranged in the electron stream. The Figure shows a supersonic heterodyne receiver in which the local oscillator'is connected to. grid 40 and the signal to injector grid 32 while, as the arrangement described in, Specification 545,123, by-pass electrode 31 is connected through tuned circuit 41 to potentiometer 48.
