Abstract

617,878. Cathode-ray oscillographs. PHILCO RADIO & TELEVISION CORPORATION. Sept. 25, 1945, No. 24821. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1944. Drawings to Specification. [Class 37] [Also in Group XL (c)] Each pair of the deflecting plates of a cathode-ray tube having a radial scan is energized from a capacitor circuit, the capacitor being charged or discharged to restore the capacitor to a normal level by a triggering potential applied to a valve. The capacitor is charged (or discharged) from an A.C. source of frequency low compared with the repetition frequency of the triggering signal so that a number of sawtooth waves are generated during each half-cycle. The A.C. sources for the time base generators are arranged to be in quadrature, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The circuit may employ a screen grid valve operating as a dynatron (see Group XI (c)).
