Abstract
535,905. Valve generating circuits ; television. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., SHANNON, D. S. B., and CHATTERJEA, P. K. Oct. 24, 1939, No. 28597. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] For imposing an oscillation, Fig. 7, on the charging stroke of a time-base circuit for line scanning in television, a resonant circuit tuned to a high frequency is shock-excited by the fundamental frequency. The condenser C1, charged through R2 and discharged through a gas-filled or hard valve VI, has in series therewith an inductance L, which may be tuned by a series or parallel capacitor. The inductance L may be coupled to a coil in the grid circuit, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown). A scanning beam, controlled by such a circuit, follows a slightly zig-zag or sinusoidal course, thus compensating for any space uncovered by the light spot.
