Abstract
549,778. Alloys. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. June 3, 1941, No. 7035. Convention date, May 31, 1940. [Class 82 (i)] Grid electrodes for electron discharge devices are made of alloys consisting of nickel, or nickel and cobalt, containing a few per cent. of manganese and a small amount of carbon. The manganese content may be 0.5-10 per cent., the carbon 0.1-0.5 per cent., and the cobalt, if present, 5-50 per cent. In making the alloy, an alloy of nickel with about 3 per cent. of carbon may be made and added in small pieces to a melt of nickel and manganese.
