Abstract

549,458. Fuel injectors. DOXFORD & SONS, Ltd., W., and KELLER, K. O. May 19, 1941, No. 6433. [Class, 7 (iii)]. A fuel-injection needle valve 12 operates within a nozzle body 10 which is made in one piece of a metal, such as steel, able to resist the high pressure and corrosive action of the fuel, and is mounted in a holder 15 of cast iron or the like, through which the fuel is led at 17 to'passages 20 in the nozzle body leading to the valve, which is reduced in diameter at 21 to provide a further passage for the fuel. The holder 15' may be shrunk or screwed on to the nozzle body. Valves of the kind to which the invention relates are described in Specifications 127,980, 154,988, [both in Class 7 (iii)], and 532,711.
