549,294. Surgical limb supports. McDONOGH, F. May 28, 1942. No. 7261. Convention date, July30,1941. [Class 81 (ii)] A surgical support comprises an outer cover 11 of soft leather, strong linen, &c. the sides of of which can be detachably connected together by a zipp fastener 14 or by lacing &c. an internal rubber air cushion shaped to the portion of the body to which it is to be applied and means for inflating and deflating the cushion. Attached to the cushion is a tube 3 the end of which is attached to a cock 4 provided with a plug 5 formed with a passage-way, which by being brought into register with the passage in the tube 3 allows the cushion to be inflated or deflated as desired. Detachably connected to the cock 4 is a flexible tube 6 to which is connected an air gauge 7 and a ball valve 8. By opening the plug 5 the pressure in the air cushion will be indicated on the gauge 7, the ball valve 8 preventing escape of air. To let down the air the tube 6 is detached and the plug 5 opened.
