Abstract
670,013. Inflating valves. GUIDE BRIDGE RUBBER CO., Ltd., EVANS, T., and DEARNALEY, S. Jan. 10, 1950 [Jan. 10, 1949], No. 693/49. Class 135 [Also in Group XV] A games ball or bladder therefor has a valve located wholly outside the ball and comprising a tube or teat a, which may be of oval section, spring- ing from a flanged ply b to the other side of which is peripherally attached another ply c having at least two holes or slits c<SP>1</SP>, one of which is out of alignment with the opening of the tube a. The valve may be moulded in one piece. To assemble on a ball d, the tube a is turned inside out and threaded through the offset (left-hand) slit c<SP>1</SP>. The ply b is secured to the ball d. After inflation, the tube a is threaded in through the next slit c<SP>1</SP> and out through the righthand slit c<SP>1</SP> to form a seal. Alternatively, the tube a, after inflation, may be folded up and tucked in through the second slit c<SP>1</SP> to lie between the plies band c, in which case the right-hand slit c<SP>1</SP> is omitted.
