549,094. Wire &c. grinding &c. machines. HOWES, S. R., and FOX & CO., Ltd., S. Jan. 8, 1942, No. 298. Addition to 484,923. [Class 60] A machine for polishing &c. wire &c. comprises a power-operated drum through which the wire &c. runs axially and a pair of selfcontained, electrically-driven rotary tools disposed in the drum with their edges touching opposite sides of the wire, means being provided for adjusting the tools radially during rotation of the drum. The drum 4 is mounted within a casing 3 and is driven by a shaft 73. The tools 9 are mounted on motor shafts 19 in casings 15 which can be adjusted radially by rack mechanism operated by bevel gear 30 from pinions 27 actuated by a rack 26 controlled by a hand-operated screw-and-nut 21, 23.
