Abstract

517,294. Hydraulic power transmission. BOHRINGER BROS. GES. July 19, 1938, Nos. 21385 and 21386. Convention dates, July 19, 1937, and July 4, 1938. [Class 69 (ii)] A fluid drive for a machine such as the lathe shown comprises a rotary pump, driven by an electric motor 25, and a rotary motor which drives the machine through pulley 26, both pump and motor having rotary blades in a cylinder, adjustable eccentrically. The eccentricity of the motor and pump are adjusted so that the relationship between motor speed and eccentricity follows the same law as that between speed and load on the machine shaft and the eccentricity of the pump is adjusted so that the pressure is maximum, the speed of the motor 25 and pump being constant. The adjustment is made by cams on a shaft 29 rotated by gearing from the shaft 15 of the work holder.
