548,471. Reducing surface reflection. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. July 21, 1941, No. 9206. Convention date, July 31, 1940. Drawings to Specification. [Class 97 (i)] A reflection-reducing coating for the surfaces of refracting materials is formed by evaporation of a mixture of calcium fluoride and aluminium oxide. The evaporation may be from a tungsten filament coated with the mixture, the filaments being a 15 mm. wire heated to approximately 1580‹ C. by a current of 8 amperes in a vacuum, and the mixture comprising approximate 10 per cent by weight of amorphous aluminium oxide.
