Abstract

547,950. Billet-piercing. WELLMAN SEAVER ROLLING MILL CO., Ltd., and MARNIE, J. March 14, 1941, No. 3524. [Class 83 (iv)] In a press for billet-piercing the punch 13 or billet container 6 or each of these is carried by a slide 8 which is guided by plane surfaces 32 of the frame 3. These surfaces may be formed on angular guides 31 adjusted by screws 38 and secured by bolts 35 to the frame 3 and may engage wear strips 36 of the slide 8 which may be operated hydraulically. The press may also include the constructive features claimed in Specifications 547,951 and 547,952.
