[Class 114] In apparatus fo de-icing the blade of variable-pitch aircraft propellers a rigid ring 6 i supported from the root of each blade 2 by means of ; strap 11 and a swivel joint 8 having two degrees of freedom The ring 6 carrie one or more bracket 12 with a swive joint 13, having two degrees of freedom for one end of a radius arm or tube 7, the other end o which is carried by a swivel joint 14 having a single degree of freedom, carried by the propeller hub. The conductors 4 from the terminal block of a hubmounted generator 5 run along or through the arm or tube 7 and across the swivel joints 14, 8 with sufficient free length to permit flexure about the joints, to supply current to heaters 3 mounted on the blades 2. The brackets 12 may be eliminated by mounting the swivel joints 13 directly on the ring 6. Specifications 525,452 and 545,298 are referred to.
