559,619. Marine aircraft carriers. DOWNING, A. E. July 23, 1942, No. 10284. [Class 113 (ii)] A watercraft comprises an aircraft landing platform constructed of wire mesh attached to a sectionalized tubular framework D supported above water on streamlined tubes A<SP>2</SP> carried by streamlined floats A, the floats and tubes having ball-bearing swivel connections at B with the platform so that the floats which are provided with tail rudders A<SP>3</SP> may align themselves according to the direction of motion of the craft. The latter is driven by airscrews G the engine housings of which, together with other housings for crew &c., are streamlined and mounted on turntables geared together for simultaneous movement. Fuel oil may be stored in the floats A.
