Abstract

546,201. Gas-fired boilers. GRATER, N. April 19, 1941, No. 5080. [Class 25] In a gas-fired tubular boiler in which the flue outlet is off-set relatively to the exhaust chamber and has an aperture below the outlet to reduce the down draught effect, the exhaust chamber space rises towards the flue outlet. The exhaust chamber, in the form of a casting, has a main circular opening b fitting the body of the boiler, and a D-shaped opening c below, and of greater area than, the outlet h; the latter is placed to one side of the exhaust chamber a having a sloping wall g fitted for a cover. The openings b, c are provided with inwardly-directed flanges which form drip-catching spaces d. A detachable baffle t, of the cross-section shown, is mounted in brackets k.
