[Class 17 (ii)] A shoe having the marginal edge 2 of its upper 1 outturned and secured to an insole 3 is provided with an inverted L - shaped cover strip 12 for this marginal edge and for the vertical edges of the insole and an outsole 11. In a modification, the vertical portion of the strip covers only the edge of the insole, but in both cases its horizontal portion may be extended to cover the lower margin of the upper. The strip, the marginal edge 2, and the insole may be secured together by thongs 10 laced through punched holes 9.
