Abstract
496,440. Shoes. AYERS, F. L. April 26, 1937, No. 11913. Convention date, April 25, 1936. [Class 17 (ii)] A strip comprising a base and an inwardly extending lip along the outer edge thereof is secured to the margin of the top face of the outer sole of a shoe constructed in accordance with the method described in Specification 463,713 to permit of re-soling. The lip 14 and base 13 may, as shown, be integral with one another, or in separate parts secured together and the strip is secured to the edge of the sole 10, which is preferably bevelled at its margin 11, so that its top face is level and is not higher than the inner face of the sole. In order to increase the adhesive attachment between the upper and sole, the outwardly turned margin of the upper may be pinked or otherwise cut, or perforated.
