Abstract
440,447. Boots &c. LAIBLE, C. L., 1101, North Fort Thomas Avenue, Fort Thomas, Kentucky, U.S.A. Sept. 5, 1934, No. 25564. [Class 17 (ii)] The overlasted marginal portions 8 of a shoe upper are secured in position, e.g. by adhesive, to a limp insole member 1 and a stiff shank piece 3 placed in overlapping position on the bottom of a last. The edge portions 8 of the upper are then bevelled and a sole is secured thereto and to the shank piece 3, e.g. by adhesive. The limp insole member 1 may comprise a sock lining which is secured to the last by temporary means, such as a readily detachable adhesive connection, before the shank piece 3 is placed in position. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification, 341,637.
