544,990. Bakers' ovens. WARRINGTON, J. I. D., and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. Jan. 2, 1941, No. 86. [Class 51 (ii)] In a bakers' oven of the swinging tray conveyer type such as described in Specification 526,670, air curtains are provided for isolating a portion or portions of the baking space through which the conveyer trays pass. The Figure shows the invention applied to the charging opening of the oven whereby the admission of air to and the emission of steam from the oven are prevented when the door is open. Inner and outer sets of air supply nozzles 1, 3 and 11, 12 are arranged in the door 2 and adjustable door or panel 4 which are made hollow and connected to a source of compressed air such as a fan or blower 5 by means of air trunks 6, 7, 8, 9. Curtains of air are supplied alternately through the inner and outer nozzles under the control of valves 13 actuated by electro-mechanical light sensitive means in accordance with the position of the conveyer trays. The air from the jets is collected in ducts 19, 20 forming part of a casing 16 and connected to the suction side of the fan 5.
