Abstract

656,952. Drying pottery. MEAKIN, Ltd., J. & G., and MEAKIN, B. R. G. Jan. 15, 1949, No. 1186. [Class 34(ii)] A pottery drying stove for cups and the like comprises an outer cylindrical or polygonal casing 10 having two openings 11, 12 the opening 12 being for removing dried cups leaving the moulds in position to be further dried before being replaced by fresh moulds at opening 11. Centrally within the store is a rotary casing 20 open at the top but partly closed at the bottom leaving an opening 25. A housing 30 contains a fan 32 which draws air downwards through casing 20 and through a heater 34 into air ducts 35 which extend vertically upwards and have nozzles 36 which blow hot air into the cups and moulds 40 carried on the casing 20. There is at least one duct 35 between the openings 11 and 12 so that when cups have been removed at 12 the moulds are dried while moving to opening 11.
