526,670. Bakers' ovens. POINTON, J. E., DUMBLETON, C., and BAKER, PERKINS, Ltd. Dec. 16, 1938, No. 36751. [Class 51 (ii)] In a bakers' oven of the tray conveyer type in which the oven is charged and discharged at one end through a door 6, and in which partitions or baffles 7 separate the conveyer laps, and the baking takes place in a steam atmosphere, a suction conduit 14 within and open to the oven is operable to. produce either a static condition or a circulation of the atmosphere in the oven. As shown the longitudinal baffle partitions 12, 7, terminate adjacent an antechamber 5, up through which the tray conveyer passes, at an angularly adjustable inverted channel 14 in communication through end sleeves in which it is mounted and uptakes 20 with a source of suction such as a fan. The position of the edges 16, 17, of the channel determines the level of steam atmosphere in the oven and the direction, counter to or with the conveyer, of the oven atmosphere circulation, or whether a static atmosphere results. Egress of steam through the charging door 6 when open is also prevented. Adjustable hinged flaps may be provided on the channel opening to vary independently the steam level and adjustable dampers 23 in the uptakes 20..Specification 401,687 is referred to.
