576,853. Furnaces. GIBBONS BROS., Ltd., MARLE, M. VAN, and WEBB, A. W. OGILVY-. May 27, 1944, No. 10314. [Class 51 (ii)] In furnace for the heat treatment of metals and of the kind comprising oil or gasfired heating units mounted near the side walls, with a partition for separating the units from the space for the goods and a fan for circulating air, the heating elements are inserted in openings in and supported by the roof and project into the space between the partition forming the heating chamber and walls of the furnace. The heating space is formed by vertical partitions 14 and a perforated floor 9 and air is circulated by a fan 20 placed above the heating space. The radiants 17 are inserted through the roof 13 into the spaces between the partitions 14 and side walls 12.
