[Class 45] [Also in Groups xxvm and XXXIII] The parts 6, 6a, of tubular metallic masts, poles or posts are connected together by means of flanges 7; 7a formed at their abutting ends, around which are placed the two halves of a divided grooved annular member 9, over which is placed a cup or sleeve I to which the guy ropes or cables 10 are attached, thus holding the joint in position. The ropes 10 may be attached to a ring 12 encircling slots 11b cut in the sleeve 11, or to perforated legs attached to the sleeve.
