Street posts; tubular posts; bases for posts; connections.- A gas or electric light standard is formed of a one-piece wrought steel base A having a base-plate B em. bedded in the ground. The upper end of the base A receives a tubular steel pole E. Fig. 2 shows a construction in which the pole E rests on projections D in the base A, or the lower end of the pole may be expanded to fit round a reduced portion of the base A. Collars C are formed on the base A.
