342,876. Mine props. CONSETT IRON CO., Ltd. and SCHOLES, J., Lea Hurst, Aynsley Terrace, both in Consett, Durham. Jan. 18, 1930, No. 1827. [Class 20 (ii).] Mine props of the type comprising a main portion, a slidable sleeve with a wooden plug on the end of the main portion, and a metal wedge passing through apertures in the sleeve whereby it may be adjusted with respect to the main portion, are provided with continuous metal bearing plates 7 formed integrally with or secured to the sleeves 5 to rest upon the upper surface of the adjusting wedges 3 which are of hollow formation. The bearing plate may be welded to the sleeve or according to the Provisional Specification, parts of the sleeve may be slit and bent over to form an integral bearing plate.
