Abstract

352,261. Shoring excavations. PATERSON, J., 11, Oakleigh Avenue, Burnt Oak, Middlesex. July 12, 1930, No. 21196. [Class 20 (ii).] The sides of excavations are supported temporarily by means of openwork frames formed of triangular-section bars 2, disposed vertically, and longitudinals 3. The edges of the bars penetrate the soil and the frames are pressed into position by screw-jacks 4 acting between opposed frames, the jacks being replaced by wooden struts if desired.
