Abstract

524,244. Posts or poles. POLARIS, Ltd., and FINER, H. J. Jan. 25, 1939, No. 2542. [Class 20(i)] [Also in Groups XXX and XXVIII] The sections of tubular built-up poles are forced apart by a screw-actuated toggleappliance. Fig. 1 shows reinforced holes 7 in the ends of the sections engaged by pins 6a projecting from the toggles. By rotating the screw 14 through the medium of the handle 16 the toggles are expanded to separate the pins. In a modification, the distance between the holes 7 is greater and they are engaged by pins on a telescopic lengthening-bar. The latter has other holes on its upper surface into which the pins 6a fit. Specification 426,074 is referred to.
