A support for electrified wire fencing comprises two bars 1, 2 which are pivoted together and provided with ground anchoring means in the form of hooked end portions 3 3 having triangularshaped plates 4 welded thereto. One bar is provided with a slidably mounted eyed-member 7 for the wire whilst the other bar is provided with a sleeve 5, see Fig. 1 (not shown), for positioning the bars in alignment. The support may form, together with a stay bar 9, a tripod. The upper portion of the support may be insulated from the ground.
