Abstract

1411228 Electric fence insulator D S M PHILLIPS and P A PHILLIPS 13 Dec 1972 57503/72 Heading H2C An insulator for supporting the wire of an electric fence comprises a bifurcated member having means, e.g. slots 22, to support the wire -aperture in the arms of the insulator so that it can be fixed to a post 21 by a pin or bolt which also passes through an aperture in the post and means such as protruberances on the inside faces of the arms, to ensure that the wire holding part of the insulator is spaced from the post 21. Instead of L-shaped slots 22 sloping slots may be provided, Figs. 1-5 not shown. In Figs. 6 and 7, not shown, the bifurcated member is twisted through 90 degrees about its longitudinal axis and the wire is supported in the space between the arms adjacent the U-shaped end. The member is preferably of polyethylene.
