Abstract

542,967. Knitting - machines. BENTLEY ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and WAINWRIGHT, C. H. July 1, 1940, No. 11115. [Class 74 (ii)] Relates to picker devices for the needles of circular knitting - machines with rotary needlecylinders. The widening picker 13 pivots on an horizontal pin 14 in a support 12 the vertical stem 11 of which can oscillate in a bracket 10. The rear end 26 of the picker is embraced by two spring arms 24, 25 pivoted on the ends of a crosspiece 21 pivoted at its centre to a plunger 17, 18. A lifting cam or lever by engagement with the underside 20 of the lower part 17 of the plunger brings the inner end 15, 16 of the picker into position for picking at the right times.
