Abstract

542,768. Cardboard containers for fruit &c. PEACOCK, A. M. July, 25, 1940, No. 12136. [Class 18] A collapsable cardboard basket for marketing fruit, and vegetables &c. has a central partition 14 secured to the bottom adapted to be inserted in a slot 18 in a cross-tie 24, an arched part 17 serving as a handle. For collapsing panels 8 which engage by hook-like formations are disengaged and folded outwards, panels 6, which are hinged to the base 1, are also folded outwards, partition 14 is bent about a horizontal crease, disengaged, and laid . on the bottom and the container collapsed by folding the front and back walls 2 in the same direction about their hinge lines 3. Lid 20 has a slot 23 for the handle.
