541,956. Transformer screens. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., COCKERELL, C. S., BRAILSFORD, J. D., and CUFFLIN, M. H. Feb. 23, 1940, No. 11625/41. Divided out of 552,497, [Group XL]. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (ii)] A screen for input transformers of radio receivers is formed by winding silk-covered wire on a cylindrical former, securing the turns in spaced relationship by the application of a dope such as " Domolac " (Registered Trade Mark) tape dissolved in acetone, severing the turns to form a number of loops and conductively joining the loops together by soldering a wire to bared portions on the loops. As an alternative to the application of dope, the wire may be moulded into a suitable plastic. The screen may be inserted between concentric primary and secondary windings of a transformer, or the loops thereof may be flattened to constitute a flat screen.
