951,950. Transformers; circuit assemblies. PYE Ltd. Sept. 25, 1961 [Nov. 3, 1960], No. 37845/60. Headings H1R and H1T. [Also in Division H3] An I.F. transformer for use in a transistor receiver comprises primary and secondary windings 2, 4 spaced apart on a common former, the primary winding having a capacitor 3 connected in parallel therewith, and dust cores 5, 6 engaged by a thread within the former, the core 5 serving to tune the primary winding and the core 6 serving to adjust the coupling between the coils which otherwise are slightly undercoupled. The coil 2 is connected in the collector circuit of a transistor in the I.F. amplifier of a radio receiver, the coil 4 being connected to the base electrode of the subsequent transistor.
