541,339. Lubricating. MARTIN MOULET ET CIE. May 20, 1940, No. 8942. Convention date, June 6, 1939. [Class 12 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVI] An extensible and collapsable lubricant container 12 is placed around a rotating shaft 1 between the casing 3 and a member 16 mounted on shaft 1, being connected to one member and pressed against the other member, so that lubricant supplied under pressure through a plug 22 and conduit 21 to a chamber 17 causes the container to collapse and admit lubricant to a chamber 11 within the container, which extends again when the external pressure is released. The container has at one end a disc 14 mounted on a shoulder of the bearing 4 and at the other end a disc 15 applied by a spring 13 against member 16 machined to fit. The container is mounted in chamber 17 having a sleeve 18 with packing 20 pressed by a spring 19 against member 16. Shaft 1 has an orifice 10 leading to channel 6 and orifices 7 ..9 which direct lubricant to the bearings of a rotary pump and to grooves 8a on the rotor vanes 2a.
