529,888. Stuffing-boxes &c. BOSCH GES., R. June; 10, 1939, No. 17048. Convention date, June 13, 1938. [Class 122 (v)] In order to lighten the load on the stuffing-box of the rotating shaft of a rotary piston compressor &c. there is located on the inward side of the stuffing-box 4 a metal ring 6, which surrounds the shaft with slight pray, and is pressed by a spring 7 against a shoulder 5 of the bearing, but is radially movable. The end of the ring preferably has a facing 8 of synthetic rubber.
