Abstract
154,529. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. Nov. 22, 1919, [Convention date]. Fluid governors. - A liquid governor utilizing both the static pressure generated by centrifugal force in a liquid annulus of constant radial depth, as well as the pressure due to the velocity of the rotating liquid relatively to a stationary dip pipe, comprises a rotating casing a containing liquid, the centrifugal pressure of which is transmitted to a regulating valve &c. through a stationary pipe c dipping in an annulus b in the casing. The level of liquid in the annulus may be kept constant by supplying excess liquid to the casing through a pipe f. The casing may have a number of radial ribs h to prevent relative rotation between the casing and the liquid. The liquid may be fed to the pipe f by a ring carried by the casing and dipping in a. liquid reservoir; or one end of the pipe f may dip into the liquid reservoir and the other end into the annulus b, so that the liquid is suclied into the casing.
