[Class 44] In a sliding - clasp fastening giving a water-tight closure by the provision of abutting rubber strips secured to the stringer tapes, rubber strips a are applied to both faces of each tape b, the strips being shaped to provide a recess d which accommodates the fastener elements c and the operating slider. The abutting faces of the strips may be serrated or rebated. The slider e has a thin web f projecting out between the edges of two of the strips and carrying the operating tab g. As shown, rollers f<1> which ride along the outer surfaces of the strips are also provided on the slider web.
