Both the strips 14 of a sliding clasp fastener each have a longitudinally extending rib 15, a groove 16 engageable with the rib 15 of the other strip by a shoulder 23, and a slider engaging groove 24 on the outer surface of the strip such that in the fastened position, the centre line of the grooves 24 and of the shoulders 23 are aligned with one another.
