Abstract

539,880. Airscrew spinners. CONSTANT SPEED AIRSCREWS, Ltd., and MARSHALL, F. G. Sep. 11, 1940, No. 14069. [Class 114] Tandem airscrews rotating in opposite directions are provided with detachable spinners. The front spinner 4 is detachably secured to the back plate 6 attached to the hub by studs engaging with key-hole slots. A rotatable locking-plate may also be employed. The rear spinner 5 shaped as streamlined continuation of the front spinner, is made in two halves attached to the front and back plates 25, 26 by key and slot devices which may inlude a locking-plate. A key 18 may be used to rotate the locking-ring and on insertion to its operative position may push aside a spring detent which prevents the displacement of the ring under vibrations.
