Abstract

533,271. Airscrew spinners. METCALFE, L. E. Oct. 26, 1939, No. 28733. [Class 114] In an air-screw spinner the back plate attached to the hub is made in two parts, the inner section comprising channelled plates 16, 17 which enclose the inner portion of the outer section 20. Vibration is damped by rubber sleeves 21 threaded on through-bolts connecting the sections of the back plate, the sleeves being enclosed in housings 23. The spinner is detachably secured to the back plate by spring-pressed locking pins 36 mounted in housings 33 in the rim of the spinner. The front plate of the spinner is also made in two sections 12, 14 with an interposed rubber ring 13. Specification 498,157 is referred to.
